What is anarchy and finch?
anarchy and finch is a weekly web novel combining elements of midwest gothic, horror, fantasy, ghost stories, and folklore from all over the world. Inspired by video games like Kentucky Route Zero, South of Midnight, and Darkwood, as well as novels like Mapping the Interior by Stephen Graham Jones.
When the old gods tore open a hole in All Creation, pouring forth a deluge of evil spirits, what was once a peaceful land distorted into a world of surreal architecture and creatures beyond comprehension. Although the hole was closed long ago, ghosts and spirits still wander freely through the cracks. Some places are more effected than others.
Following the death of their best friend, Sadie Crane leaves their hometown to attend university. They're hoping to learn more about their ability to sense, perceive, and interact with spirits. The Arcadians have a word for people like them. Seers. But despite their best efforts, they don't find any useful information. They return home after six years, trying to confront the people they left behind and start over again. While back home, they have a dream about a black fox. The black fox tells them they need to find their auntie Bear if they want to understand what it means to be a seer.
Accompanied by an aspiring aviator and the timid aimless love of their life, Sadie Crane embarks on a long journey across Arcadia to find their auntie and hopefully put an end to the visions that have haunted them every day since their best friend died. On the way, they encounter red walkers, the dead who just won't stay gone, giant cats, and people from all walks of life just trying to get by.
New chapters once a week.
